Marion L. Ross, 79, of Butner, N.C., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998 in Durham, 
N.C. Born Dec. 6, 1918 in Beaverton, she was the daughter of Harry and Anna 
Schwalm Mitchell. She lived in Beaverton until 1981 when she moved to N.C. 
Marion married Ronald Ross in February 1937. He preceded her in death in 
September 1971.
   Surviving are four daughters, Mary Ann and husband Lewis Dull of Butner, 
N.C., Sally and husband Jerry Hicks of Beaverton, Ronna Hosford of Creedmore, 
N.C., and Susan Surns of Oscoda; one daughter-in-law, Irene Ross of Beaverton; 
one sister, Muriel Anderson of Stem, N.C.; one brother, Wallace Mitchell of 
Beaverton; 19 grandchildren; and 37 grandchildren. She was preceded in death 
by one son, David, March 1997 and three brothers,  Ralph, Harold and Harry Jr.
   Services were held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Clements Funeral Chapel in North 
Carolina. She was then moved to the Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin where 
funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Robert Marshall 
officiating. Burial was in Dale Cemetery in Beaverton.
