Ernest Jehnsen, pastor of the church and Rev. Arthur Whisler, presiding Elder officiating. The son of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Rupp, he was born January 10, 1881 at Larned, Kansas. On Septmeber 2, 1906, he was married to the former Anna Hornish at Defiance, Ohio. A farmer most of his life, he retired from heavy farm work several years ago because of ill health. He has been a resident of Gladwin county for more than 40 years, and was a member of Church of the Brethren. His survivors include his wife, Anna; three daughters, Miss Norene Rupp, Mrs. Tom Larkin and Mrs. Edward Martin of Detroit; three sons, Earl and Robert of Detroit and William of Midland; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Eli Flory of Defiance, Ohio, and Mrs. Dan English of Bryan, Ohio; and three brothers, Oscar fo Pioneer, Ohio, Ervin of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Edward of Beaverton. Interment was made in Dale cemetery.
