George D. Russell, 79, of Lyle Road, Beaverton, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the 
Clare Hospital following an illness of two days. A life-time resident and 
farmer of Gladwin County, Mr. Russell was born in the Dale Community April 4, 
1893. He was married to Nellie Killian May 15, 1918, in Beaverton, and she 
preceded him in death May 25, 1958. Mr. Russell and Mrs. Celia Carrier were 
married in Pontiac Dec. 17, 1960, and she died April 29, 1969.
   Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Luella Kindle of Coleman and Mrs. Leona 
Randle of Clare; a brother Lawson of AuGres; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Randle of 
Indian River; six grandchildren and five great grandsons. Services were held 
Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, in Beaverton, with the Rev. 
Wesley Huggard and the Rev. Arthur Munger officiating. Burial was in Dale 
Cemetery.
