Although she had been in poor health for some time she was able to be up and around until recently, so her death came as a shock to the community. Mrs. Russell was born in Paulding county, Ohio, February 16, 1864. She was married to Rufus Russell on December 10, 1882, in Ohio and they came with their family to Beaverton 42 years ago. She has lived here ever since that time. Mr. Russell died in 1920 and since her family of eleven children have married and in homes of their own, she still lived in her own home here. Mrs. Russell was a very kind and understanding person, and was held in high esteem by all who knew her, both yound and old, and she will be greatly missed in her neighborhood. Surviving are eight daughters and three sons: Mrs. Iva Kuehl, of Saginaw; Mrs. Hazel Lane and Mrs. Alma Perry, both of Beaverton; Mrs. Ethel Johnson, of Flint; Mrs. Ruth Pfister, Mrs. Florence Bowlby and Mrs. Mabel Adams, of Detroit; Mrs. Mildred Nelson, of Midland; Homer Russell, of Florence, South Carolina; Gilbert Russell, of Legioner, Indiana; and Ralph Russell, of Detroit; also 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, besides a host of friends. She has five grandsons in the service of the United States Russell Lane, overseas, William and Philip Pfister and Ned Russell located at various stations in the states and Hick Duley, in the South Pacific. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Beaverton Presbyterian church with burial in the Beaverton cemetery. The Rev. Henry Kreulen will officiate.
