M-18, Beaverton, died Monday, December 4, at the Gladwin Area Hospital following a long illness. Mr. Scheele was born at Deshler, Ohio, August 29, 1902, the son of Henry and Mary Norden Scheele. He came to Beaverton in 1920 with his parents and they settled on the farm he farmed until 1962 when illness forced him to retire. Mr. Scheele and the former Velma Russell were married Sept. 27, 1930, at Oberlin. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and of the Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife Velma; one son, Herbert of Lexington, Ky.; and two daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Verna) Richmond and Delores Spitler, both of Beaverton; a sister, Mrs. Ray Longstreth of Beaverton; and eight grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Gladwin, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Hieber officiating. Burial will be in the Dale Cemetery. There will be a prayer service Wednesday evening at 9:00 at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin.
