Gladwin County Record
Dencie M. Schuler, 82, of Beaverton, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000 at MidMichigan 
Medical Center-Midland following a brief illness. Born July 8, 1918 in 
Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Leverett and Emily (Haw) Cottrell. 
Dencie married Ernest Schuler, Aug. 24, 1940 in Saginaw. He preceded her in 
death in March 1989. They came to Gladwin in 1972. She retired from Michigan 
Sugar Company in 1982. 
Surviving are two sons, John and wife Linda of Beaverton and Ernest and wife 
Katie of Standish; one daughter, Barbara Harder of Beaverton; one sister, Kate 
McGarity of Shields; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, one 
brother, and one sister. Services were held Tuesday at the Sisson Funeral Home 
with Pastor David Kiestler officiating. Burial was in Billings Township 
Cemetery.
