Gladwin County Record
Gertrude M. Schweitzer, age 90, of Beaverton, Michigan, died October 11, 2002 
at Tender Care Nursing Home in Clare. She was born June 8, 1912 to Frank and 
Emma (Beaver) Armstrong in Huron County. She was a homemaker and lived in 
Gladwin County two years, having previously lived in Lake City. Gertrude loved 
to serve the Lord. 
She married Frank Walsh of Midland in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1949. 
In 1955 Gertrude married Charles Schweitzer of Royal Oak. He preceded her in 
death in 1957. 
Surviving her are her son Dale (Pamella) Knechtel of Beaverton; four 
grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; 
and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three brothers and one 
sister. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2002 at Hall Funeral 
Home in Beaverton. Pastor Russell Thomas officiated. Burial took place in 
Beaverton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Seventh Day 
Adventist Church in Clare.
