ALICE SCOBY Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Scoby, 82, of Dale, were held on Sunday May 16, at the Dale Methodist church. The Rev. Donald Sailor officiated and burial was made in the Dale cemetery. Alice Jane Scoby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Kemerer, was born in Paulding county, Ohio, on August 2, 1865. In 1889 she was married to Edwin G. Scoby, who died 14 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Scoby spent the first years of their married life in Ohio, moving to Michigan and settling in Tobacco township in 1894. Mrs. Scoby had been making her home with relatives in Flint for the past year where she passed away on May 19. Surviving are two sons, Clarence Scoby, on Montrose, and Charles Scoby, of Beaverton; one sister, Mrs. Emma Watts, of Crooksville, Ohio; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five nephews and three nieces.
