Scoby, 88, 215 S. Antler St., Gladwin died Friday, Jan. 6, in the Gladwin Area Hospital. Born in Nelsonville, Ohio, on July 14, 1895, she came to Michigan in 1901 and spent most of her life in the Beaverton area. She was a member of the Dale United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. The former Mildred Nelson, she was married to Charles Scoby June 17, 1914, in Tobacco Township. He preceded her in death in 1974. Surviving are 2 sons, Gerald of Gladwin and Charles of Summerland Key, Fla.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marguerite) Kelley of Elsie and Mrs. Wilson (Viola) Percival of Lompac, Calif.; one brother, John Nelson fo Bowling Green, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, John in 1969 and a brother, Charles in 1983. Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Dale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bruce Hatch officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery. Arrangement were by the Mathews Funeral Home.
