He was born in the state of New YorkFebruary 2, 1866, and came to Michigan with his parents in 1878. He was married to Miss Ida Hicks, who preceded him in death in 1902. To them were born five children, Charles of Ann Arbor, Elba of Detroit, and Eva of the same city. These three were in attendance at the funeral. Gordon of Detroit and Aldo of Portland, Orgon, were not present. In 1904 he was married to Miss Nora Heacocks of Beaverton. To this union was born one daughter, Leona, who also attended the funeral. Mr. Scott had two brothers and two sisters, all surviving, William of Beaverton, Norman of Flint, Mrs. Hattie Fairchilds of Cadillac and Mrs. Eliza Lince of Two Harbors, Minn. The funeral procession left Boyne City on Wednesday, June 1, and stopped in Beaverton at the home of his brother, William Scott. At 1:30 they proceeded to the Dale Methodist church, where services were conducted by Elder S. T. Pendleton of Beaverton, with burial in the Dale cemetery.
