Mrs. Leona M. Sheets, 70, of 310 VanDyke Rd., Beaverton, died Tuesday, July 
30, 1991, in the Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center, Clare, after a short 
illness. Born in Rhodes, Nov. 18, 1920, she had spent her lifetime in Gladwin 
County. She enjoyed crafts and quilting. The former Leona Swinson, she was 
married to Leo Sheets on May 5, 1962, in Gladwin.
   Surviving are 4 sons, Alfred Wray Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio., Allan Sheets of 
Beaverton, William Sheets of Harrison, and Randall Sheets of Gulf Port, Miss.; 
2 daughters, Mrs. Fern Truitt of Gaithersburg, Md. and Mrs. Darlene Bierd of 
Beaverton; 6 brothers, Frank Swinson of Oklahoma, William and Richard Swinson 
of Rhodes, Melvin and Bobbie Swinson of Midland and Donald Swinson of Midland 
County; 3 sisters, Betty Knight and Donna Woodruff of Beaverton and Ruth King 
of Georgia; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A brother, Charles 
Swinson, preceded her in death.
   Services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin 
Chapel. The Rev. Paul Sheets officiated and burial was in the Tobacco Township 
Cemetery.
