Gladwin County Record
Myrtle M. Shier, 75, of Beaverton, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000 at MidMichigan 
Medical Center-Midland following a short illness. Born Feb. 14, 1925 in 
Saginaw, she lived in Gladwin County 23 years and previously lived in Flint. 
Myrtle married Lawrence Shier, Oct. 26, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio. She was a 
homemaker and a member of Estey Moose Lodge 456. 
Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Gary of Beaverton; one 
daughter, Geraldine and husband Thomas Firth of Lake Worth, Fla.; four 
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She 
was preceded in death by her parents. Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, 
Aug. 12 at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton with Pastor Steve Shangraw 
officiating. Burial was in Billings Township Cemetery in Beaverton.
