Shock, 80, of Beaverton, died Sunday, July 26, in Bay City General Hospital after a short illness. Born in Defiance, Ohio, on Jan. 13, 1890, he had lived in Gladwin County since 1915. Mr. Shock was a farmer and a member of the Beaverton Church of The Brethren. He was married to the former Bessie Dils on Fevb. 1, 1915, in Ft. Wayne, Ind. Surviving besides his wife are, one son, Paul, of Paramount, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary French, of Stanton, Mrs. Fern Higgins, of Reed City and Mrs. Grace Voorheis, of Flint; one brother, Roy, of Sherwood, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. J. F. Hornish, of Defiance, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Services were held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the Beaverton Church of The Brethren. The Rev. Henry List and the Rev. Arthur Whisler officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery. The Hall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
