SERVICES THURSDAY FOR A. D. SMITH

   Services will be held Thursday for Archie DePew Smith, of Gladwin, who died 
Tuesday morning following an illness of nine months. Mr. Smith was born in 
Duton, Ontario, Canada, on Aug. 28, 1890 and was employed in the accounting 
department of General Motors before retiring and coming to Gladwin in 1951. He 
was married to the former Ada Ritchie on June 8, 1920, in Brantford, Ont.
   Surviving are his widow, Ada; one son Thompson, of Flint; three 
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be held Thursday at 2 
p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Gordon Showers will officiate and 
burial will be in the Dale cemetery.
