Edward A. Smith, 62, of 3346 Calhoun Rd., Beaverton, died Monday, Nov. 30, in 
the Midland Hospital Center after a long illness. Born in Beaverton April 18, 
1925, he had spent his lifetime in the county. Mr. Smith was a truck driver 
for Dow Corning in Midland for 36 years until retiring in 1982. Mr. Smith and 
the former Geraldine Schoals were married June 18, 1949, in Beaverton. 
   Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Dale and Albert of Beaverton; 2 
daughters, Carol Smith and Mrs. Paul (Linda) Palmer of Beaverton; one brother, 
Jack of Beaverton; 2 sisters, Doris Smith of Beaverton and Mrs. Geraldine 
Lightfoot of Tifton, Ga.; and 2 grandchildren.
   Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Wells will officiate and burial will be in 
the Tobacco Township Cemetery.
