Ellen Graves was born in Saginaw county on March 6, 187, and passed away at Mercy Hospital in Bay City on April 0 at the age of 73. She was married to Albert H. Smith on November 15, 1888. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Hazel McKimmy, Mrs. Myrtle Asch, and Percy Smith, all of Beaverton; a sister, Mrs. S.B. Kelly of Flusing; a brother, Oscar Graves of Rhodes; 21 grandchildren, and 27 nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the Dale cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 05-03/1944 Column - 4 Page - 4 SERVICES FOR MRS A.H. SMITH Services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church for Mrs. A. H. Smith who died Sunday, April 30, at Mercy Hospital in Bay City. Rev. Perry Arnold and Rev. Donald Sailor officiated. Ellen Graves was born March 6, 1871, in Saginaw county. She was married to Albert H. Smith on November 15, 1888, in Saginaw. They moved to Midland county and lived there a few years, moving to Gladwin 46 years ago. The Smiths celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary November 15, 1938. Surviving besides the husband are one son, Percy; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Smith and Mrs. Myrtle Asch, all of here; one sister, Mrs. F.B. Kelly, of Flushing; one brother, Oscar Graves, of Rhodes; and 21 grandchildren. Burial was made at the Dale Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandson, T Sgt. James Gordon Asch, Ronald and John McKimmy, Edward, Jack and Max Smith, Doyle an L C Asch and Howard McKimmy carried flowers. Attending the services from away were T/Sgt. and Mrs. Gordon Asch of St. Louis, Mo.; Miss Alice McKimmy, Mrs. Myrtle Parker, Mrs. Minnie Herrick, Mrs. Ferris Tebeo, Mrs. Eva Longsway and Mrs. Nelson Hayes, all of Saginaw; Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Kelly and Mrs. Nettie Leudtke of Flushing; Mrs. Hattie Wesner, Mr. and Mrs. Bert LaDuke of Flint; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Graves of Bay City; Mr. and Mrs. George Rolfe of St. Charles; Mr. and Mrs. William Rex of Atlas; Mr. and Mrs. E N Case, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hinds and Mrs. John Benseh of Midland; and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Graves of Rhodes.
