SERVICES HELD FOR JULIA SMITH

   Mrs. Julia A. Smith, 68, of Beaverton Township, died December 23, in the 
Midland Hospital following an illness of one week. Born in Maumee County, 
Ohio, on Sept. 29, 1900, she came to Gladwin County 40 years ago from Toledo. 
The former Julia Cullen, she was married to Percy E. Smith on July 19, 1923, 
in Toledo.
   Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Doris at home and 
Mrs. Geraldine O. Lightfoot of Tefton, Ga.; three sons, Edward, Jack and Gene, 
all of Beaverton; and six grandchildren. Rites were held Thursday at 2 p.m. 
from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Henry List officiated and burial was in 
the Dale Cemetery.
