Percy E. Smith, 76, of Beaverton, died Monday, March 4, in the Midland 
Hospital. Born in Midland on March 26, 1898, he has spent his lifetime in 
Gladwin County. Mr. Smith was a carpenter and a mason. He was married to the 
former Julie Cullen on July 19, 1923, in Toledo, Ohio. She preceded him in 
death on Dec. 23, 1968.
   Survivors include three sons, Edward A., Jack D. and Gene M. of Beaverton; 
two daughters, Mrs. Doris Junita of Beaverton and Mrs. Geraldine Lightfoot of 
Tifton, Ga.; one sister, Myrtle Wright of Beaverton; and six grandchildren.
   Rites were held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home in 
Beaverton. The Rev. Arthur Whishler officiated and burial was in the Dale 
Cemetery.
