CYRENE C. SMITH

   Cyrene C. Smith, 76, of 314 Center St., Beaverton, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 
in the Gladwin Area Hospital following a short illness. Born in Belleville on 
July 4, 1907, he came to Gladwin County 3 years ago from Ypsilanti. He was a 
retired farmer. Mr. Smith and the former Thelma Woods were married July 8, 
1960, in Traverse City. 
   Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Larry of Traverse City, Cyrene 
of Monroe and Lee of Lansing; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Keech of Livonia; 3 
brothers, Donald and Roy of Ypsilanti and Fred of Manistee; and 3 sisters, 
Mrs. June Ossenheimer of Hersey, Mrs. Viola Spencer of Ypsilanti and Mrs. 
Florence Dennis of Harrison.
   Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
Chapel. The Rev. Henry List officiated and burial was in the Beaverton 
Cemetery.
