The victims were Arlene Marie Spencer, 18, and Constance Jean Crago, 16, both of Beaverton. Double funeral services were held this morning at the Beaverton Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Elder B. H. Doty, of Gladwin, and Elder E. J. Kintner, of Beaverton, officiated at the 11 o'clock rites. Arlene was buried in Dale cemetery and Constance in Fairgrove cemetery. Robert Hutson, of Beaverton, was the driver of the car. He was treated for minor injuries at the Gladwin Hospital and released. Three other girls, riding in the back seat fo the car, were uninjured. They are Susan Hutson, sister of the driver, Jean Williams and Miss Sampson. Hutson told officers he was taking the girls home from a Beaverton restaurant and was proceeding along the road in a downpour of rain when the accident occurred. The highway is rather narrow at this point and is flanked by a deep drainage ditch. The two girls fell or were thrown from the two-door car as it over-turned and were pinned by the car in the water. Efforts to revive Miss Crago by artificial respiration failed. Sheriff Arthur Kelly and Coroner Lewis Reigle were called to the scene. Arlene, daughter of Eber Spencer, of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Florence White, of Beaverton, was born in Beaverton township, Gladwin county, Feb. 2, 1931. She leaves besides her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Alice Barber and Miss Pauline Spencer, both of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Lloyd, of Beaverton; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Killian, of Beaverton. Constance was born Aug. 25, 1932, and is the daughter of Mrs. Julia Smith, of Flint. She lived with her grandmother, Mrs. Stella Hammond, in Beaverton. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ellen Swartzmiller, of Hope; and a grandfather, Clyde Crago, of Flint.
