Spicer, 91, of Beaverton, died on Wednesday, May 14 at the Dubey Nursing Home after an illness of five years. He was born in Union County, Ohio, on October 16, 1866. A Gladwin county farmer, he came here from Illinois 51 years ago. Mr. Spicer was married to the former Miss Maggie Bell in Paulding, Ohio on August 4, 1888. She precededd him in death in 1939. Surviving are two sons, Oran of Beaverton, and Frank of Hillsboro, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs George Nunn of Coleman; eight grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Clara Becker of Marine City. Funeral services were held on Saturday, at 1 p.m. at the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Allen Cobb officiated and the Rev. G. H. Rowe assisted. Burial was in Beaverton cemetery. Pallbearers were John Uhl, Al Price, George Winn, Ralph Hayward, George Schneider and Jack Flock.
