Ardis V. Staley, 81, of Gladwin, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1996 at the University 
of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor following a short illness. Born Sept. 7, 
1914 in Midland, she resided in Midland and Gladwin County all of her life. 
Mrs. Staley had been employed as a school teacher in one room schools in the 
Coleman School Area. She was a member of the Beaverton Baptist Church. The 
former Ardis Ottgen married Norris H. Staley Aug. 1, 1934 in Midland. He 
preceded her in death April 24, 1981.
   Surviving are one son, Dirk and wife Louise of Flushing; 8 grandchildren; 
and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon 
Fassett Jan. 23, 1982. Rites were held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Beaverton 
Baptist Church. Pastor Brian Wright and Pastor Gordon Sanders officiated and 
burial was in the Dale Cemetery in Tobacco Township, Beaverton. Those planning 
an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American 
Diabetes Foundation or the Beaverton Baptist Church.
