Staley, 72, of 141 Saginaw St., Beaverton, died Thursday, Jan. 12, following a long illness. Born in Saginaw on February 16, 1911, she had spent most of her life in Gladwin County. She retired in 1976 from the Toughbouy Co., a division of Robinson Industries after 25 years. The former Thelma Phillips, she was married to C. Vernell Staley on June 25, 1929, in Coleman. He preceded her in death February 2, 1982. Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Dale (Bonnie) Lower of Midland, Mrs. George (Donna) Jones of Beaverton and Mrs. Richard (Kay) Henry of Gladwin; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A son, Loren, preceded her in death February 12, 1982. Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Beaverton Baptist Church. The Rev. Brian Wright officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Hall Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Beaverton Baptist Church.
