Gladwin County Record dated 11-16/1983 Column - 3 Page - 2
Charles F. Stenger Sr., 94, of 3850 W. Dale Rd., Beaverton, died Thursday, 
Nov. 10, in the Clare General Hospital following a short illness. Born in 
Defiance, Ohio, on September 26, 1889, he came to Gladwin County in 1969 and 
farmed. Mr. Stenger married the former Gertrude Hazelton in 1913 in Beaverton 
and she died in 1931. He then married Odessa Basket in 1937 and she preceded 
him in death in 1981.
   Surviving are 3 sons, Homer and Charles Stenger of Beaverton and Milford 
McClung of Lansing; one daughter, Mina Shaw of Flint; 4 step-sons, Jesse and 
James Craig and Ewing and Frederick May of Kentucky; one step-daughter, Mary 
Skrugg of Kentucky, and 13 grandchildren.
   Services were held Saturday, at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Beaverton Chapel. Burial was in the Beaverton Cemetery.
