ILLNESS FATAL TO MRS. STERLING

   Mrs. Annie Sterling, 91, of Beaverton died Thursday at the Waite Nursing 
Home in Caro after an illness of two years. A Gladwin County resident for 76 
years the former Annie Colbeck was born on July 12, 1869, in Canada, and was 
married to John Sterling in Ann Arbor in 1888. He preceded her in death in 
1940.
   Survivors include three sons, Homer, of Flint, Perley, of Sarasota, Fla., 
and Kenneth, of Hope; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Broadworth, of Caro; two 
sisters, Mrs. Helen Kent, of Beaverton, and Mrs. Nina Fox, of Milwaukee, Wis.; 
19 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dale Methodist Church, 
Elder Alvin Pendleton officiating. Burial was in Dale Cemetery.
