The Rev. Harold Hodgson officiated at the rites and burial was in the Dale cemetery. Mr. Sterling was born in Blenheim, Ontario, on August 15, 1868. He married Miss Anna Colbeck in 1888 and they resided near Lemington, Ontario. The Sterlingss came to Gladwin county and settled on their place in Billings township in 1900. Mr. Sterling was always prominent in community affairs and held several township offices. Survivors in addition to his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Dunham, of Caro; four sons, Roy, of Beaverton; Percy, of Hope; Homer, of Flint; Kenneth, of Hope; and a brother, George Sterling, of British Columbia.
