Daniel Stern, a Tobacco township farmer, died Monday forenoon at about 11 a.m. 
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Church of the Brethren 
in Tobacco township, conducted by Rev. Perry Arnold, and burial will take 
place at the Dale cemetery. Mr. Stern had been a resident of Tobacco township 
for about 16 years. He was one of Tobacco township's substantial and honorable 
farmers, having many friends.
   He died of a complication of diseases and had been ill for several months. 
He had an operation at Bay City, from which he made no great recovery. He ws 
the father of 14 children, of whom eight survive him. Mrs. Landa Mishler, his 
youngest child and a resident of Tobacco township, and his widow survive him. 
The remaining children live in other parts, a part of them in western states.
