Born in Spring Gardens, Ill., Nov. 18, 1908, he moved to Gladwin County in 1973 from Taylor. He was a heating and cooling maintenance employee for Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. for 25 years until retiring in November 1970. Mr. Stringfield was a member of the Beaverton Baptist Church. Mr. Stringfield and the former Mildred Gill were married Oct. 16, 1937, in Detroit. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George (Cynthia) Dotson of Beaverton; 2 sisters, Ester Flowers of Ina, Ill. and Pauline Carroll of Allen Park; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William and a sister, Naomi Binns. Rites were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Beaverton Baptist Church. Pastor Brian Wright and Pastor Donald Fromer officiated and burial was in the Tobacco Township Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Hall Funeral Home.
