STROMAN Mary Brown Stroman, 64, passed away Saturday, February 21 at 2:10 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Miss Margaret Stroman, in Detroit, where she was visiting, following a short illness. The daughter of the late Addison Thomas Brown, well-known Beaverton resident, she was born January 16, 1889, in Saginaw. In 1909 she was married to Mark Stroman who preceded her in death two years ago. She and her parents were pioneers residents of Beaverton where her father was active during the lumber days. During her life she spent many years teaching in the Detroit school system, retiring two years ago, and returning to her home in Beaverton to live. Surviving are one son, Addison Thomas Stroman; and one daughter, Margaret Stroman, both of Detroit; three brothers, A. T. Brown, Jr., of Beaverton, Jay, of Saginaw, and George S., of Detroit. Mrs. Stroman was brought from Detroit to the Hall Funeral Home Monday afternoon. Funeral services will be held today at 2:00 p.m. from the Beaverton Methodist church with the pastor, the Rev. Larry Grubaugh, officiating. Burial will be made in the Beaverton cemetery. The ground where the Methodist church now stands and from which funeral services will be conducted, was given to the church by her father.
