He was born Feb. 11, 1908, to Fred and Sophia (Scherwine) Stuhr in Bay County, Michigan. He married Nellie (Gibson) Stuhr on July 23, 1933, in Beaverton. She preceded him in death in 2001. A lifetime resident of Gladwin County, Mr. Stuhr worked as a Foreman at Bay Pipe Line in Beaverton. Surviving are three daughters, Carol Sroka, Margie Ockerman of Saginaw, and Kathryn Lee of Lake Elsinore, California; one son and daughter in law, Neil and Carol Stuhr of Harrison; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Mr. Stuhr was also predeceased by two grandsons, Scott Ockerman and Christopher Stuhr; one son, Jim Stuhr; and twelve brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin with Rev. Timothy Verity officiating. Burial followed at Beaverton Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday Feb. 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
