STUHR Nellie L. Stuhr, 86, of Beaverton, died Friday, March 30, 2001 at the Gladwin Living Centre in Gladwin following a short illness. Born Feb. 7, 1915 in Wyandotte, she was the daughter of James and Harriet (Matthews) Gibson. She lived in Gladwin County for 60 years and previously lived in Lake Elsinore, Calif. Nellie married Emil C. Stuhr, July 23, 1933 in Beaverton. She was owner and operator of the Dew Drop Inn Restaurant in Wooden Shoe for four years. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran church and the Gladwin County Historical Society. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Margie Ockerman of Saginaw, Carol Sroka, and Kathryn Lee of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; two sons, Neil and wife Carol of Harrison, and Jim of Naples, Fla.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; and two grandsons, Scott Ockerman and Christopher Stuhr. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin with Rev. Timothy Verity officiating. Burial was in Beaverton Cemetery, Beaverton. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Gladwin. Hall Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
