Born May 9, 1888, in Marlette, he had been a resident of Gladwin County since 1916. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, and was a member of the Billings Missionary Church and Billings Senior Citizens Club. Surviving are his wife, Edna; seven sons, Frank, William and Richard, all of Rhodes, Charles of Albright Shores, Melvin and Bobbie of Midland, and Donald of Bay City; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Knight of Gladwin, Mrs. Donna Witer and Mrs. Leona Sheets of the Beaverton area, and Mrs. Ruth King of Georgia; 41 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Services are today (Wednesday) at 2:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, with the Rev. Neil Keyes officiating. Burial will be in the Billings Township Cemetery.
