BEAVERTON WOMAN DIES IN MISHAP

   A Beaverton woman was fatally injured in a 2-car collison in Bay County 
Thursday afternoon, according to Bay City State Police. Jacqueline Sykes, 32, 
of 1164 Walnut St., All-Bright Shores, was fatally injured when she pulled 
onto Garfield Rd. from a US-10 exit ramp about 1:10 p.m., said Trooper Chris 
Lewis. He said Sykes apparently did not see the oncoming vehicle as she 
started to turn south onto Garfield Rd. The northbound car was driven by 
Dwight Kreager, 24, of Saginaw, and he was not injured.
   Skyes' 5-year-old daughter, Shanna, a passenger in the car, was treated for 
minor injuries at Bay Medical Center and released, authorities said. Neither 
Sykes nor her daughter was wearing a seat belt, troopers said. Kreager was 
wearing a seat belt, they noted.
   Authorities said the accident remains under investigation, but added it 
does not appear any tickets will be issued. Sykes's obituary is on page 2.

JACQUELINE SYKES

   Jacqueline K. Sykes, 32, of 1164 Walnut St., All-Bright Shores, died 
Thursday, Oct. 16, of injuries sustained in an auto-mobile accident in Bay 
county. Born in Flint, April 27, 1954, she moved to Gladwin County in 1976 
from Saginaw. The former Jacqueline Wilson, she was married to Charles Sykes 
Oct. 6, 1972, in Saginaw.
   Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Charles, at home; 2 
daughters, Sheila and Shawns, at home; her parents, John and Doris Wilson of 
Roscommon; and 2 brothers, Randy of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Terry of Roscommon.
   Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
Chapel. Elder Kathleen Bliss officiated and burial was in Tobacco Township
