Benjamin F. Tarzwell, 69, of Beaverton, died Monday, Feb. 26, in the Midland 
Hospital following an illness of one year. Born in Oscoda County on Dec. 24, 
1903, he had retired from Dow Chemical Co. in 1965. Following his retirement, 
he went to Prudenville and had moved back to Beaverton January 6. 
   Mr. Tarzwell operated a grocery store in Beaverton from 1945 to 1952 and 
the Edenville IGA store for two years. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the 
Beaverton Lodge. He was married to the former Gladys Eyre on June 10, 1925, in 
Bay City.
   Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert of Beaverton; one 
daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Kent of Midland; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Simon and 
Mrs. Irene Nichols both of Bay city; and five grandchildren.
   Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home in 
Beaverton. The Rev. John Pruden will officiate and burial will be in the Dale 
Cemetery. A Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral 
home.
