James W. Tolly, James W. Tolly, Jr., age 46, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, 
April 9, 2002 at his home on Guernsey Road in Beaverton. He was born March 19, 
1956 in Gladwin, the son of James Sr. and Bonnie Tolly. Except for ten years 
of residency in Midland, he has resided in Beaverton. He graduated from 
Beaverton High School in 1974. He was always a sports enthusiast and diligent 
in exercising. He attended Community College for two years. He was well versed 
in politics and world events. He was a member of the Beaverton Baptist Church 
and was among the charter members, always faithful in Bible reading. 
   He is survived by his parents, James and Bonnie; one sister, Gladys (Jerry) 
Scoby of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Kirk (Kris) of Munith; two nephews, Paul 
Scoby and Andrew Tolly; and two nieces, Laurie Scoby and Karen Tolly. 
Additional survivors are two aunts, Coralee (Frank) Foster of Beaverton and a 
favorite aunt, Billie (John) Tolly of Niles; six uncles, George Rowley of 
Gladwin, Max (Shirley) Guernsey of Beaverton, John Tolly of Niles, Richard 
(Bea) Tolly, Lowell (Gert) Tolly, and Milton (Lillian) Tolly, all of Midland; 
as well as numerous cousins. Jim will be deeply missed by his family. 
   His family received friends and relatives at the Sisson Funeral Home in 
Gladwin on Sunday, April 14. Funeral services for Jim were held Monday, April 
15, 2002 at the Beaverton Baptist Church. Rev. Tim Terhune and Rev. Brian 
Wright officiated. Burial was in Dale Cemetery on Freeman Road.
