VANDYKE Mrs. Armina Van Dyke, 84, a well known pioneer resident of Beaverton for many years died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lavon Killian, in Beaverton, Tuesday evening, following a long illness. The daughter of Enos and Hannah Mohler Crowell, she was born February 3, 1868 near Bradford, Ohio. On April 23, 1898 she was married to Archie Van Dyke at Woodland, Michigan, comingt to Gladwin county that same year. With the exception of four years spent in Lansing her life has been spent in this community. She is a charter member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren, and has always been active in the work of the Sunday school, the church, and the ladies aid, as long as her health permitted. In her earlier days she taught public school, and was always a faithful Sunday School teacher. Her husband passed away May 14, 1937. She is survived by two sons, Leland of Beaverton, and Joseph of Alma; one daughter, Mrs. Lavon Killian of Beaverton; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Martha Crowell; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 28, at 2 p.m. from the Church of the Brethren with the pastor, the Rev. Ernest Jehnsen, officiating. Interment will be made in Dale cemetery. Friends may see Mrs. Van Dyke at the home of her daughter, after Wednesday evening.
