DIES SUDDENLY AT HOME

   Leland A. Van Dyke, 66, died suddenly Friday, June 3, at his hom in 
Gladwin. Born Aug. 10, 1899, in Billings Township, he was the son of Mr. and 
Mrs. Archie Van Dyke. He and the former Miss Martha Witkoske were married in 
Milford June 10, 1928. After retiring from farming several years ago, Mr. 
VanDyke operated a motel at Harrison for seven years. He was a member of the 
Beaverton Church of the Brethren and of the County Farm Bureau.
   Surviving are his wife, Martha; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Beaver, of Tuscon, 
Ariz., and Mrs. Marlene Joseph of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; a brother 
Joseph of Alma; and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Killian of Beaverton. 
   Services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Beaverton Church of the 
Brethren with the Rev. Randall Roose officiating. Interment was in the Dale 
Cemetery.
