Mrs. Rosa E. VanSchaik, 71, a life-time resident of Beaverton, passed away on 
Tuesday, May 27, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edith McMaster in Detroit. 
Rosa E. Payne was born in Beaverton on September 17, 1882. She was married to 
Emery VanSchaik in Beaverton in 1913. He preceded her in death in May, 1953. 
Three months ago when Mrs. VanSchaik became ill; she went to Detroit to live 
with her daughter.
   Surviving besides Mrs. McMaster, are one son, E. C. VanSchaik, of Flint; a 
brother, Edson Payne, of Flint; also a grandson, James McMaster, of Detroit. 
   Funeral services will be held from the Beaverton Presbyterian church Friday 
afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev. Laurence Grubaugh of the Beaverton 
Methodist church will officiate, and burial will be made in the Dale cemetery. 
Mrs. VanSchaik will be at the Hall Funeral Home until Friday at 12:30, and at 
the church until the time of service.
