VanSchaick, 69, were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Beaverton Presbyterian church. The Rev. Larry Grubaugh, of the Methodist church, officiated and burial was made in the Dale cemetery. Mr. VanSchaick died suddenly on Friday of a heart attack, when he was attempting to free his car from the mud on a side road in Tobacco township, where it became stuck on his return from a fishing trip with his wife. Coroner Donald W. Hall said that death was caused by a heart condition. He was born on April 27, 1884, in Genesee county and married Miss Rose E. Payne of Beaverton on September 29, 1915. Surviving, besides his wife, are one son, E. C. Grant VanSchaick, of Flint; one daughter, Mrs. Edith L. McMaster, of Detroit; a brother, Horace, of Beaverton; also one grandchild. Pallbearers were Don Ross, Claude Fairchild, Lester Burr, Dave Broka, George Lane and Ray Perry.
