Mary O. Walker, 85, of 3215 W. Lang Rd., Beaverton, died Sunday, March 14, 
1993 in the Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center-Midland, after a short 
illness. Born in Fairview, W. Va., Aug. 15, 1907, she moved to Gladwin County 
in 1937 from West Virginia. She worked as a Bell Telephone operator in 
Beaverton until the dial telephones came in. Mrs. Walker was a member of the 
Beaverton United Methodist Church. The former Mary Fordyce, she was married to 
Harry A. (Joe) Walker on Jan. 6, 1923 in Oakland, Md. and he died May 3, 1988.
   Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Richard (Lucille) Roehrs, Mrs. Erma Perry 
and Mrs. Dale (Joanne) Brown, all of Beaverton; 8 grandchildren, 13 great 
grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
   Rites were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
Chapel. The Rev. David K. Stewart officiated and burial was in the Dale 
Cemetery, Tobacco Township. Memorials may be made to the Beaverton United 
Methodist Church.
