Elizabeth Wallis, 89, of Gladwin, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at the Gladwin 
Living Centre, Gladwin, following a long illness. Born Dec. 1, 1911 in New 
Allouez, she was the daughter of William and Eliza (Stevens) James. She lived 
in Gladwin County since 1964 and previously lived in Flint. Elizabeth married 
Joseph C. Wallis, May 13, 1933 in Flint. He preceded her in death in 1997. She 
was a bookkeeper for Hollingsworth Trucking Company in Flint. 
   Surviving are one daughter, Bethany and husband Gerald Wolpert of Gladwin; 
two grandsons, Gregory and wife Vicki Wolpert and Geoffrey Wolpert, all of 
Gladwin; one great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Manges of Gladwin; and many 
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will 
be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9 at the Dale United Methodist Church, 
Beaverton with Pastor Fred LaMere officiating.
