WARD Funeral services for Charles E. Ward, 62, were held on Sunday, May 29, at the Beaverton Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Ernest Jehnsen officiating. Burial was in the Dale cemetery. Mr. Ward passed away at his home in Beaverton after an illness of more than 15 years, having been confined to his bed for the past two and a half years. He was born on March 19, 1887, in Montgomery county, Ohio, the son of Frank and Anna Landis Ward. In 1912 he came to Gladwin county, and bought land which he cleared for a home. He was married to Grace Rau, May 6, 1914, living on their farm in Tobacco township until 1943, when the family moved to Beaverton. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Surviving are his wife, Grace; one daughter, Winifred; one brother, Harrison, of Sidney, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. E. W. Winemiller and Mrs. Harry Slagle, of Sidney, Ohio, and Mrs. Raymond Cromer, of Houston, Ohio. Pallbearers were Harold Winemiller, John Sagle, Glenn Arnold, Rollin Lanphierd, Allen Rau and James Rau.
