Mrs. Grace M. Ward, 94, of 110 Knox St., Beaverton, died Sunday, Oct. 18, in 
the Gladwin Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Putnam County, Ohio, 
Jan. 18, 1893, she had spent most of her life in Gladwin County. She was a 
member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren and Beaverton Farm Bureau. The 
former Grace Rau, she married Charles Ward in 1913 in Beaverton. He preceded 
her in death in 1949.
   Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Winifred) Dugan of Beaverton; 3 
sisters, Mrs. Vida Arnold of Holland, Mrs. Fay Lanphierd of Grand Rapids and 
Mrs. Alice Ward of Midland; and 3 grandsons. Two brothers and 2 sisters 
preceded her in death.
   Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
Chapel. The Rev. Donald Keen officiated and burial was in the Tobacco Township 
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Beaverton Fire Department Equipment 
Fund.
