Dan was born on a farm in Akron, Michigan. The son of the late Wesley and Myrtle (Bell) Wark, Dan graduated from Akron High School in 1945, joined the U.S. Navy in 1945 and served during WWII. After being honorabley discharged from the Navy, Dan hired in at the Buick assembly plant in Flint. He went to the G.M. Tech Center where he received his degree as a machinist. He then transferred to Bay City Chevrolet plant in 1953. He had 36 1/2 years at G.M. before his retirement in 1985. Dan is survived by his loving wife, Rose, of 52 years, as well as their four children, Linda and Jeff Kintner; Edward and Debbie Wark; Vickie Buzzell; and Jack and Sandy Wark; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister Margaret Kraych and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Donald and Ralph Wark. Dan enjoyed all sorts of outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a club scout leader in Bay City schools for six years. Dan built beautiful musical instruments such as Hammered Dulcimers and Mountain Dulcimers, and belonged to several music groups in the area and in Florida. He also enjoyed playing the mandolin. Dan and Rose enjoyed going to Zephyrillis, Florida, in the winter months. They were avid square dancers for many years. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, 1 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 430 S. Ross St., Beaverton, Michigan, with Wayne Shidler officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Tobacco Twp. (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mayo Clinic and Heartland Hospice.
