Cecil E. Watkins, 81, of Beaverton, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at home. Born 
June 13, 1920 in Ironton, Ky., he was the son of Allie and Martha (Chambers) 
Watkins. He lived in Gladwin County since 1978 and previously lived in Lincoln 
Park. Cecil married Mary Alice (McCullough), March 5, 1982 in Lincoln Park. He 
was a supervisor for Ford Motor Company, River Rouge Plant in Dearborn, 
retiring in 1975. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marine 
Corps. 
   Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Mark and wife Laura of 
Belleville; one daughter, Nancy and husband Norman Wellman of Melvindale; one 
stepdaughter, Theressa Whetnall of Beaverton; one stepson, Rickie Hudspeth; 
six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He 
was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. 
   Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin with 
Pastor Ronald Ives officiating. Burial was in Billings Township Cemetery in 
Beaverton.
