WED Services were held for Jacob Welker at the home in Beaverton township Saturday afternoon, October 31, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. B. F. Wade of the Methodist church at Beaverton, Burial services were at the Beaverton cemetery. His four sons acted as pallbearers. Born in Germany November 20, 1852, he died October 28, 1936, after an illness of two years. Forty-seven years ago he came to Beaverton and located on the land which is now his present farm and which has since been his home. In June 1890 he married Katherine Rackel. Eight children were born. Surviving are Mrs. Rackel, four daughters, Mrs. Lena McCulloch of Flint, Mrs. Christine Jenkins of St. Lou's Mo., Mrs. Elizabeth Knorr and Mrs. Ann Grady of Detroit; four sons, Frank of Rochester, George of Flint and Chris and William at home; seven grandchildren, one granddaughter, Pauline; a brother and a sister in Germany.
