WILLIAM WELKER DIES SUDDENLY

   William H. Welker, 71, died suddenly of a heart attack Thursday noon at his 
home in Beaverton Township. Born on July 18, 1892, in Beaverton Township, he 
lived his lifetime in Gladwin County. A farmer, he was never married.
   Surviving are three brothers, Chris, of Beaverton, George, of Flint, and 
Frank, of Clare; and three sisters, Mrs. Christine Jenkins, of Dayton, Ohio; 
Mrs. Betty Knorr, of Rochester, and Mrs. Ann Grady, of Birmingham.
   Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the residence with Rev. Aaron Hyde 
officiating. Burial was in Beaverton Cemetery.
