Wesley, 67, of 321 Sears St., Beaverton, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1992, in the MidMichigan Regional Medical Center, Midland, after a long illness. Born in Gladwin, May 4, 1924, he had spent his lifetime in the county. Mr. Wesley was a pipe coverer for Dow Corning in Midland for 39 years and retired in 1985. He held a dual membership in the Gladwin and Beaverton Masonic Lodges 397 and 453. Mr. Wesley was a 32nd degree Mason and served as a deputy district instructor for the Masonic Lodge of Michigan. He was a member of the Elf Kahurath Shrine Club of Saginaw, the Consistory of Bay City, the Royal Arch Masons of Midland, the Gladwin Eagles Club 3292 and the Gladwin County VFW Post 7303. Mr. Wesley served on the Beaverton City Council and was Mayor Pro Tem from April 1955 to May 1969 and the Beaverton City Assessor from May 1969 to June 1989. Mr. Wesley and the former Pauline Hatfield were married April 2, 1949, in Beaverton. Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Harry of Elsie, Vern of Beaverton and Craig of Sanford; one daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Virginia) Primeau of Wauseon, Ohio; one brother, Donald of Bay City; 3 sisters, Mr.s Viola Corbett and Mrs. Jesse Keeley of Beaverton and Mrs. Bessie Burke of Chonea, Ill.; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Chester and Ronald and 3 sisters, Virgilene Monk, Dorothy Ockerman and Irene Scott. Services were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Donald Keen and the Rev. Mark Moore officiated and burial was in the Beaverton Cemetery. A Shrine Memorial Service was held Tuesday at 7 p.m. and a military graveside service was held by the Gladwin County VFW Post. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Fund.
