SUCCUMBS AFTER LONG ILLNESS

   Franklin White, 79, of Gladwin, died Tuesday following a three year 
illness. A lifetime resident of Gladwin County, he was born in Billings 
Township on Sept. 7, 1881, and was married to the former Edna Wilder on Dec. 
23, 1909, in Gladwin. Mr. White operated a farm in Billings Township until 
1914 when he moved to Gladwin. He served as Billings Township supervisor and 
treasurer for a number of years.
   Surviving are his wife, Edna; four daughters, Mrs. Blanche Witer, of Bay 
City, Mrs. Frances Holtzberry, of Saginaw, Mrs. Elsie Dickens and Mrs. Lois 
Sischo of Gladwin: two brothers, Hugh, of Alberta, Canada, and William, of 
Billings Township; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Livingstone, of Ontario, Canada; 22 
grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
   Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home. 
The Rev. Ross Tracy will officiate and burial is in Billings Cemetery.
