Whitmer, 87, of 3841 Long Rd., Beaverton, died Monday, March 30, 1992, in the Gladwin Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Paulding County, Ohio, Sept. 18, 1904, she moved to Gladwin County 45 years ago from Midland. She was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren, the Home Extension and 4-H for 40 years. The former Flossie Myers, she was married to John Whitmer on Oct. 24, 1926. He preceded her in death April 17, 1988. Surviving are 2 sons, Olan and Daniel of Beaverton; 2 daughters, Mrs. Milton (Lillian) Tolly of Hope and Mrs. James (Barbara) Andrist of Beaverton; 4 brothers, Daniel and Robert Myers of Shepherd, Chris Myers of Mt. Pleasant and Vernon Myers of Mio; 2 sisters, Mrs. Bertha Spencer of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Katherine Baliff of Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Beaverton Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Michael Clark will officiate and burial will be in the Tobacco Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Beaverton Church of the Brethren. Arrangements were in charge of the Hall Funeral Home.
